A novel that shares the stories of three black women - Angela, Mildred and Tamara: mother, grandmother and daughter, respectively. Their lives are as different from one anothers as possible: Mildred grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and witnessed something terrible in her childhood. Angela was too big of a star to stay in Tulsa, so in the '70's she moved to LA to be in the pictures, and Tamara goes to film school and has to find out her mother and grandmother's history before she can really find her own way. All three are connected by blood, yes, but was really bonds them all is their love for movies.
