Fabulous novel about Pearl and May, sisters who grow up in Shanghai in the 1920-30's. Forced into arranged marriages, they arrive in Los Angeles and begin their lives as brides to men they barely know. Really easy read, really gripping.
Lisa See also wrote "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan", which is excellent.
