What do a reclusive and depressed 49 year old photographer and a 21 year old graduate student (who also happens to be a heroin addict) have in common?
Well, nothing, really. This novel is weird, but also sort of fascinating. It chronicles the 10 year relationship between the boy and the photographer, mostly through their rambling telephone conversations that cover everything from the merits of various prescription drugs to the unprofessional behavior of professionals.
This books was a bit hard to follow at first, but overall I liked it.
