The story of Alice, and her coming of age. Eventually she meets Charlie, and she must try to fit in with his rich family. Charlie is involved in politics and eventually becomes President.
I really enjoyed this book, although I did skim quite a bit at the end by the end. Curtis Sittenfeld is also the author of "Prep" and "The Man of my Dreams". I had always thought that Curtis was a male...however, she is indeed a female! Which makes much more sense.
