"The Irrisistible Henry House" by Lisa Grunwald

Henry House is a 3 month old orphan given to the Home Ec program at a local college. Henry will be raised as a "practice baby", with several young women enrolled in the Home Ec program as his mothers, trying to learn how to raise a child through this practical course at the college. Henry grows up in the practice house, his life is ruined because of his weird upbringing, he rebels, he can never truly love anyone else because HE was never truly loved, etc etc.

I wasn't sure about this book at the beginning, but I pushed through and actually quite enjoyed it. An interesting read spanning the 1950s, 60s and 70s.
