"It Can Happen to You" by Lynn Crymble

Penny is 40 years old, stuck in a loveless marriage and basically, stuck in a rut. One day she finds $220,000 in bills and turns it into the local police station, where the money is reunited with its owners. Penny quickly becomes a local celebrity and agrees to a "Renovate Your Life" project with the local newspaper (where she also works). Penny is transformed: her hair, makeup, clothes, home, garden and body. Through this experience, Penny's life is turned upside down and inside out. Because of this, I'm labeling it a "Coming of Age" novel, even though the main character is 40. This was an OK book...an interesting twist at the end...didn't like the ending...but decent.
