"The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" by John Boyne

I have had this book on my "to read" list for a very long time, and I finally got it from the library! Set during World War II, a story seen through the innocent eyes of Bruno, the 9 year old son of the commandant at a concentration camp, whose forbidden friendship with a Jewish boy on the other side of the camp fence has startling and unexpected consequences.

I enjoyed this little book - read it in one sitting. It has since been made into a movie, which I think I would like to try.
