LOVED this book! I read it while in Mexico and really enjoyed it.
A coming of age novel about Taylor, youngest & only daughter of a family that is just barely holding it together. The novel starts in Houston, Texas, the summer that Taylor turns 13. Throughout the storey Taylor is trying to find her own way in the world, who she is and who she loves and what she should do with her life. She travels to New Orleans and to Mexico and then finds herself back in Houston apprenticing with Joe, a furniture maker. Down to Earth, engaging story with vivid scenes.

i just finished this book and enjoyed it. it's one of those emotional books that stick with you for a few days. i liked it.
