A heartfelt read about Caroline, who lives with her mother and stepfather in North Carolina. Abusive stepfather, neglectful mother, etc. A surprise ending. Highly recommended. Really enjoyed this novel.
Just finished this novel and really enjoyed it. At first I wasn't sure I could get through it just because the family life is so sad and awful, but man, what an ending! Thanks for the great suggestion!
