"The Good Daughters" by Joyce Maynard
Ruth and Dana are "birthday sisters", born on the same day, in the same hospital. This novel pops in and out of their lives as they grow up in very different families. Very surprising ending - although kind of easy to figure out as you read. Don't want to spoil it here, though! Easy to read, intriguing. I liked it.

This was my Spring Break read. You are right, it was fairly predictable and kind of lame at the end. Fairly standard chic lit, I suppose!
